Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the East Woods School in Colorful Fashion

May 13, 2016

Amongst the Gilded-age mansions on the famed North Shore of Long Island, the East Woods School held their annual Spring Fair weekend, which was kicked off with a tented dinner dance on Friday, May 13. This year boasted the school’s 70th Anniversary and the soiree was staged in the “backyard” of “Baywood”–the former Walter Farwell Estate, and a gem of 1918 English Georgian Architecture where the school is based in Oyster Bay. Of course, the “backyard” is now the playground for the many youngsters who call the school their “second home”! Once again, the décor committee reigned supreme for a school benefit and the Lilac’s on Long Island theme was beautiful, not to mention how the Red Beet and Goat Cheese Salad first course complimented the dramatic look of the dining tables. Dinner was followed by a live auction where tickets to the American Music Awards were awarded to the highest bidder, complete with business class airline seats and a 2 night stay in Beverly Hills, CA!
